headed down under for 3 weeks the summer after graduating from harvard on a post-graduation trip with two harvard classmates. the itinerary: 5 days in sydney, then 5 days in cairns. dave left us at this point, and then cheryl and i headed onto 5 days in melbourne, and then 5 more days back in sydney.

wild and crazy adventures abounded! we walked and walked... and walked all around sydney, attended an opera at the sydney opera house, petted emus, dingos, wombats, koalas, and wallabys, bushwalked around the blue mountains, went scuba diving off the great barrier reef, mountain biking, swimming in waterfalls, night and day canoeing, and platypus spotting, ambled through rainforests in the atherton tablelands, took a drive down the great ocean road, rode a steam railway through the dandenong forest, watched little penguins come ashore on phillip island, saw a musical, climbed the sydney harbour bridge, went wine tasting in the yarra valley, marveled at strange public art in melbourne, explored various chinatowns, tried kangaroo jerky, honeycomb, aussie burgers with red beets and fried eggs in them, billy tea, and vegemite, listened to a didgeridoo demonstration, got a lesson in star gazing in the southern hemisphere at the sydney observatory, attempted to catch filming of the movie "The Matrix" in sydney, relaxed at bondi beach, hit some pubs, watched movies, played video games, went SHOPPING, had pillow fights and towel waving contests, and were generally very silly (well, cheryl and i were, at least).
